September 1st City Council Meeting

Big meeting! Big, frustrating meeting. The theme of the night is “San Marcos Has to Pay Bills” and the second theme is “lalala I can’t hear yyyyyooouuu”. Lots of budget drama!

Hours 0:00 – 5:51: EMS billing, a boatload of budget and rate hike discussions, some minor SMPD funding, and CARTS

Bonus! 3 pm workshops: the 10 year CIP list and the next draft of the River Parks and Quail Creek Park plans

whew. It was a weird night.

Election tidbits!

On We the People, over at KZSM, so far Rob Roark has interviewed:

I’ll update with more links as I get them.

Candidates: get yours scheduled! This is a great way for me to get to know you.

In addition, he’s holding a Hays County DA debate between Kirsta Melton and Alfonso Salazar on Monday, September 14th, from 7-9. (More interviews: Kirsta Melton from earlier, also Ruben Becerra on this whole hospital district thing.)

Community Impact Interviews:

Place 3: Alyssa Garza and Jane Hughson

Place 4: Heather Hunter and Shane Scott (not out yet)

Place 6: Juan Miguel Arredondo, Bill Miller, and Lisa Prewitt

Mayor: Amanda Rodriguez and Ryan Thomason

Let me know as debates get scheduled or interviews get published, and I’ll keep a running list.
